Foreword
Even to this “enlightened” day, with the advent of civil rights for minority groups—by race or sexual proclivity—there is the stigma of daring to be different and more often than not, the censure of those more conforming souls surrounding one.
In our centers of learning, the daring to be different is even more frowned upon, and the pressure for conformity is overwhelming. And if one is gay and going to college… there is virtually no chance for that individual, for the maximum acceptance within the larger peer group, not gay, would be a jeering mockery such as the current phenomenon of electing a homecoming “queen” from among the gays willing to so admit to the larger student body. This story, however, deals with a young man’s contacts, trials and tribulations while attending school. His orientation is gay, but what about his roommate and classmates…?
