RT-603 Take It Like a Man

PROLOGUE

This city was large enough to have a sizable and active gay community and, as a result, scarcely a week went by without some sort of gay event being scheduled. But one of the biggest such events was the annual Mister Leather contest, which was always held in the largest gay bar in town. It had to be, because it attracted spectators from all across the country.

The competitors, however, were all local boys—or rather men, since about the only entrance requirement was that you had to look and act macho. Otherwise, the contest didn’t discriminate: it was open, to both top and bottom men.

Traditionally, each of the gay bars in town selected a contestant to sponsor, paying his entry fee and having a custom-made leather outfit made up for him for the competition.

There was a small cash prize for the winner, but the real inducement for entering the contest at all was the glory of it. The competition was videotaped, and copies of the tape were sure to be screened in leather bars across the country during the following year, until Mister Leather surrendered his crown to next year’s winner.

Just making it to the finals was enough to guarantee that leather groupies would be throwing themselves at you everywhere you went for at least a year.

There was a combination pre-judging and rehearsal at the bar, the morning of the contest, which, if anything, was even more of a “meat rack” exhibition than the contest itself. The morning activities attracted a pretty decent audience, all of whom had to pay to get in. Among them were many photo enthusiasts, all aiming their cameras at the contestants and snapping away like mad, getting photos that would no doubt be added to somebody’s jerk-off collection.
