And only his lovers knew that this prodigious phallic display we have mentioned was indeed only a hint of things to come. In the final rush of actual passion, when friction was applied to the voracious, rigid animal of his loins, a final phase of lengthening and swelling, of pulsating and anointing by preparatory juices, transformed the bloated organ into an even more bizzare object, which only a prolonged gushing of thick, hot gism could return to its purely human dimension.
With this lengthy digression in mind, it is symptomatic of the somewhat unhealthy balance of attentions in the tempestuous affair of Herakles and Iphitus, that the boy seemed only to gain fulfillment by the sensations of hot congestion when that mighty organ disgorged its tremorous flow of sap into his vitals. Herakles never laid a hand to the lad’s delicate sex organs; when the boy did come, it was only in response to the spurts of jelly within him from the pumping muscleman at his rear.
In time, Iphitus seemed to demand more and more weird evidences of his subjugation to Herakles, which led to an idolatry of his other secretions, excesses we needn’t concern ourselves with here. Needless to say, when he finally encouraged his hulking lover to arm himself with actual instruments of punishment, the results were inevitably grotesque. But after the whip had been wielded, the mighty muscle unclenched, and the bloody lad tenderly nursed back to health, he still insisted upon inventing more lurid acts.
We cannot, therefore, put too much blame on Herakles for killing the lad in a moment of high passion. It was mostly the fault of the thrill-hungry youth. The various gushings of blood and sperm that pumped for minutes after that searing climax, before the exhausted hero discovered that the boy was actually dead, washed away most of Herakles’ feelings of guilt.
