Introduction
At long last the homosexual community has cast off its robes of shame and fear. By openly admitting to homosexuality they have shocked many, but enlightened others. With a proper program of education the homosexual is saying—“Look, here I am, I am no different from the so called normal person.”
A host of homosexuals cooperated in the writing of this book. Without their help it would have been impossible to plumb the depths of the homosexual world. To these people, I extend my heartfelt thanks.
In this book the Mattachine Society of New York plays a most prominent part. This is not due to favoritism on my part, but rather a desire to study one group of homosexuals instead of running back and forth to the various homophile groups. All the homophile organizations are doing a fine job in educating society to the role of the present day militant homosexual.
This book has been written with the fond hope that it will dispel the fog of misinformation which surrounds the homosexual. It is my further hope that society will digest the information found in this book and proceed to draw a logical conclusion.
I dedicate this work to homosexuals and heterosexuals alike, who desire to be informed of the world and its people.
