“So! I finally found you. Have you been hiding from me?”
The sound of Mario’s voice jolted him out of his reverie and brought an embarrassed, sheepish grin to Douglas’s face. He’d been so engrossed in his thinking he hadn’t heard the boy open the bedroom door. “Of course I’m not hiding from you, Mario.”
Mario stepped quietly into the room. His eyes wandered slowly up and down the length of Douglas’s body, taking appreciative inventory of the near-nakedness. A wicked smile danced through his dark eyes.
Douglas felt the color rising up along his neck. Mario had seen him without any clothes on dozens of times. But now, for the first time, Douglas felt self-conscious. “I was just going to go for a swim,” he blurted, unable to endure the heavy silence in the room.
“Can’t that wait until later?” Mario said softly, intimately.
