If anyone tells you that all sex is alike when you’ve got ’im upside down and in the dark, don’t you believe it! Peter’s Pink, Jed Coxe’s fourth Surrey House, Inc. novel, is proof positive that everybody likes his sex a little different from everyone else… and some more differently than others. We think that Peter’s Pink is Jed’s best book to date, but ironically, it almost didn’t get written. Jed went through so many changes while writing it that he almost abandoned the project several times. He finished though, and when he did, we almost decided not to publish it. We had qualms about its outrageous frankness. To tell the God’s honest truth, it’s a bit strong, even for us. Peter’s Pink is an unusual departure for Jed Coxe. Always beautiful, often brutal, Peter’s Pink deals with a different kind of sadism… with the kind of man for whom sex is synonymous with struggle and pain. But Peter’s Pink explores this area of sexuality without delving once into the world of leather or chains, Jed is dealing here with a more subtle kind of sexual violence, one that is more shocking… more prevalent… and ultimately, just as exciting.
