Due to our nation’s high standard of living, poverty seems a problem of lesser concern to many today. Indeed, some middle-class people seem intent on belittling their less-fortunate fellow human beings, often piously exhorting them to “try harder” and to adopt their own moral code, which a comfortable and living wage has permitted them to afford.
This is the story of one young man named Pete, who has devoted his life to the impoverished, emotionally battered street boys who populate the “bad” side of town.
