Price Kana and High Priest Boru received the king’s blessing as their South Seas romance flowered. But Kana didn’t anticipate the horror-molestations to be inflicted by Ki, the king of the witches.

Homosexuality was an accepted practice on the island of Mora, and Prince Kana made the most of it with Boru, the island’s young high priest. As R. E. L. Masters, author of The Homosexual Revolution, writes: “If, as many now believe, almost half of all males have had at least some homosexual experience, and if a large number of females have also had such experience, then sexual inversion (homosexuality) can no longer be justly regarded as the unnatural vice of a few degenerates.” Kana and Boru were primitives, but certainly not degenerates. This fantasy of the South Seas tells not only of their romantic doings, but of the horrors Kana suffered under the influence of a powerful drug administered by Ki, king of the witches on the Dark Island.
