FOREWORD

Biff worked the high steel.

He was big, built, and so tough he seldom had to prove it.

Jerry was young, doe-eyed, and fair-skinned.

He was the last person in the world you’d expect to find wearing a hard hat.

And he seemed like he was lost.

The high steel is about the last place you want to be with your head up your ass.

Biff just stood there, along with the others, shaking their heads in grim amusement at Jerry’s awkwardness.

Because they all knew how it would end for Jerry.

And not too long from now, either.

Biff shrugged it off.

It was none of his business who the company hired.

That is, until the foreman called Biff in and told him that Jerry would be a member of his crew.
