Peter spotted a large red ant crawling about the rock and he placed it carefully on Chip’s stomach just above the navel. The ant instantly sank its pincers. Chip started, saw Peter’s glee, and attacked. They fought fairly earnestly, struggling for position, sweating and panting. Ultimately, Peter found himself pinned on his back with the full weight of Chip’s body resting heavily upon him.
“Give?” Chip asked. There were rivulets of perspiration on his face.
“Give what?”
“Up.”
“Why should I?”
“ ’Cause you lost.”
A few drops of Chip’s sweat fell on Peter’s cheek, and suddenly all the feelings of the night before rushed in and permeated his body, just as their free-flowing and co-mingling perspiration was saturating his flesh. Peter’s loins filled with blood. Chip released his wrists. Peter put his arms about Chip’s back. For a moment their eyes met as they had last night, searching one another, evaluating. Chip started to speak, but then he frowned and pushed away. Peter tightened his grip and held him down. The memories were coming clearer; the mists that hid them were dissipating. Peter started to move.
Chip was saying something. One of Peter’s hands went to the back of Chip’s neck and drew his head down until their moist cheeks were touching. The other pressed against the small of Chip’s back, driving the trim hips down against him. Chip’s resistance began to crumble, as somehow Peter had always known it would. Blood was flowing, too, in Chip’s loins, expanding his penis so that it began to indent the underlying flesh of Peter’s sweat-soaked stomach. Peter sighed with relief: although he had never done this before, although even his memories were of an all-but-forgotten dream, he was suddenly confident, and, in his confidence, joyous.
