Introduction

In my research on homosexual activity and its related fields I have come across something which is not very often publicized and even less known among the general public. Rape is often considered something that occurs only between a man and a woman. To the practicing homosexual, however, it is a very real problem and something which he often fears as much as a woman walking along a dark street at night.

It happens more often than most people think and in more places than they care to talk about. The attendant trauma and fear that often accompanies a female victim of rape is not always found in the male victim.

The reasons for this I do not care to speculate upon but I do have an opinion. From the evidence I have been able to compile it would appear to me that male homosexuals are better equipped psychologically and emotionally to endure such attacks.

In some cases the attack is even enjoyed to a great degree and sometimes it is even brought about by the actions of the victims but not in as many cases. It would seem therefore that the male homosexual can adapt more easily to the stresses incurred in such a dilemma.

Often a rape will unleash certain underlying yearnings of the victim and can actually be a beneficial thing in the long run.

Of course this cannot be said in all cases all the time but I have found definite evidence of it happening. What the motives of rape are and what prompts men to rape others is a very broad subject and cannot be spoken of in broad general terms. Each case is different and there are as many reasons as there are incidents.

I leave the conclusion making to others. As for myself the only thing I am interested in is the gathering of cold hard fact. That is all. My study deals with the gathering of as many personal interviews as possible. I feel that the best way to understand the situation is to deal with the people who are directly involved in it. One cannot accept second hand information as a source material. I feel that the researcher must go directly to the field and study the thing up close. For this reason I employ the method of advertising in local newspapers and posting notices on bulletin boards. I find that this method is the best way for gathering the essential information that I need. It is an honest and direct appeal for honest men to step forward and declare openly the things they have to say.
