FOREWORD
A killer drought grips the northern half of the San Joaquin Valley, destroying years of carefully cultivated grazing lands and crop fields. An uneasy peace between various ranchers breaks apart, erupting into a bloodbath over control of the remaining water reserves. Brad Greene, a refugee from the gay jungle of San Francisco, has escaped to the relative calm of the Valley, only to find himself embroiled in the blood feud between the two largest ranches in the North Valley.
Rough-Ridin’ Studs follows Brad as he uncovers a plot to subvert the Alpizar ranch, then finds himself trapped by the forces he had exposed.
Enter Bob, an explosives technician hired to spy upon Brad’s employer. Through a misguided explosion and resulting altercation with the big ranch hand, Bob becomes Brad’s closest friend. Both men, however, have little time to celebrate their newly found friendship. The forces of sadism, greed and unleashed hatred engulf both them and all around them as this tale pushes on to its thrilling end.

Synopsis by Eric Boyd
Brad Greene never imagined he’d leave San Francisco and the lifestyle he loved so much. Then he met Chet Hampton, a smoking-hot ranch hand from the San Joaquin Valley, in SF to blow off steam. After a wild weekend, Brad joins him for a whole new lifestyle. But then the drought comes and competing ranchers turn violent in their fight for water. And Chet is killed. Brad wants revenge, and when he catches a young demolition expert, Lee, hired by the ranch next door to blow fences, Brad takes his anger out on him (in a way Lee doesn’t really mind!) and then brings him back to the bunkhouse for the other guys to enjoy. Now on their side, Lee offers his help. But when they are caught by the neighboring ranch hands, their punishment is severe… until the cavalry arrives, the tables are turned, and Brad finds that Lee may mean as much to him as Chet had.
