Foreword
Too often in the past, individuals have lost out on many exciting experiences because of inhibition. Inhibition, fostered and encouraged by a repressive society, is mentally stunting and is perhaps responsible for more mental problems, nervous breakdowns, and criminal acts of passion than any other single factor. With the advent of sexual liberation, the recognition that every individual has the right and the obligation to control his or her own body, the situation may be eased somewhat. Still, too many people are held back, repressed, for no other reason than that someone, usually an unfeeling parent, has declared natural feelings and urges to be wrong.
The boy in this novel, Randy Jenkins, is forced into sexual exploration, when his mother, a puritanical woman with little understanding of the variations in human sexuality, throws him out of the house because of his playful coupling with Jerry, his best friend. Her total lack of realization that both boys have moved into a sexual relationship willingly and without regrets makes her symbolic of much of our present society.
Most important is Randy’s reaction to the situation. Without remorse, he takes the opportunity to find out more about himself and his reactions to the world of male sex around him. By simply taking advantage of situations, by striving to communicate with the men he meets who are attracted to his manly beauty, he plumbs the depths of sexual excitement, experiencing everything from interaction with groups of men, to sex with a ten-year-old boy, to carnal attention from animals.
Young Randy learns most about himself from his reaction to sadistic sex, a world he discovers quite by accident when he witnesses the rape of a willing victim by a masked giant who has only one thing in his mind, reaching sexual climax through the administration of torture.
The realization that pain is an integral part of the sexual act if participated in willingly by all parties involved brings a new and satisfving dimension to the boy’s life. He eventually settles into a life style compatible with his overwhelming need for sexual fulfillment. Harming no one and bringing pleasure to many males in search of sensual excitement, Randy Jenkins carves a worthwhile place for himself in a world still filled with individuals who, like his own mother, refuse to understand and tolerate those who recognize and act upon their own needs and urges.
The message of this book is that the human body and the human spirit are one. Each if individual and unique. Each must listen to and heed its own signals. What is right for Randy Jenkins may not be right for you, but you can learn from him and from his adventures.
