So it appears that I am bisexual. And I am more convinced than ever that such labels as homosexuality, heterosexuality, and bisexuality serve no useful purpose and do untold harm to the people who deviate from what society pretends is the norm.
I am much happier now than when I began this project. Just recognizing some things has increased my happiness by decreasing my anxiety about them.
Of course, maybe I am happier because I have quit trying to fool myself and have broken through into outright homosexuality with a willing, aware partner who is also my friend.
It would be foolish, I think, to advocate straight homosexuality as a way of life—after all, we must perpetuate the species—but it might very well be a desirable adjunct to man-woman sex. Friends are important, as well as lovers, and I strongly suspect that there is a homosexual strain to most deep friendships.
At this point I am not sure whether anyone else will ever read this. I’ll probably keep it, because the time may come when I feel I do need a psychiatrist, in which case this material should be quite valuable.
If I should allow it to be made public—and all the names and personal details have been changed with that thought in mind—then I have a question to ask of the reader:
Are you so different?
