Foreword

Lieutenant Dan Nordheim dove into the bunker as another shell exploded and sent a piece of shrapnel whizzing past his ear. He hadn’t bothered to put on his boots or a shirt when the shelling started, and his body felt unclothed and vulnerable.

As he pulled himself into the bunker, he cursed the fate that had brought him to Viet Nam, to this place out in the middle of nowhere. It was an outpost in the far northern section of the country, and Dan was making a site visit to the communication facility that was part of his command. His daily routine. Saigon was boring, but he thought he’d take dullness over this kind of excitement any day of the week.

When he got his bearings, Dan Nordheim saw a pinpoint of light at one side of the bunker. The glowing coal moved to the side, increased in brightness, then subsided. The sweet smell of marijuana pervaded his sense.

“Feel like a toke?” a voice asked from the blackness.

Dan crawled toward the sound. “Is this the way you guys deal with this?” he asked.

He look a deep lungful, passed the joint and held the smoke in his lungs. There really wasn’t any reason not to be doing something like this, he thought. There was really nothing else to do.

“And we got other ways to pass the time,” the voice said.

“Like what?” he asked as he exhaled.

“Little things like this.”

As the soldier said it, Dan felt a hand slither up his thigh. When it reached his crotch, the fingers wrapped themselves around his cock. Dan felt the thing start to grow as the young man increased the pressure of his grip.
