Introduction
A GAY BAR IN GAY SAN FRANCISCO… A real camping time. For innocent (but not for long) Jamie Corwin, it meant a place where he could cruise and meet buddies. Young Jamie is seen as a rugged cowboy in the rugged cattle country of Oregon where Rex initiates him into the seamy side of life. After a wild “round-up” in a bunkhouse where Rex is punished, we follow Jamie to the Good Fairy Bar in San Francisco, along the docks of the Embarcadero and Fisherman’s Wharf and then to Nob Hill where photographer Alan Fuller becomes his first lover. We meet gay Oscar and rough Clint Kirkwood, an ex-stuntman who can be very cruel after a few drinks. We join Jamie on a small yacht with Pat Barrows, bizarre artist with happens—anything goes-

A GAY BAR FOR THE GAY BOYS IN SAN FRANCISCO…
It all began when Jamie Corwin, wet-behind-the-ears, is given a taste of the gay life at the cruel hands of Rex, a fellow cowboy in the wilds of the Oregon mountains. Sadistic Rex threatens the innocent young cowpoke, “You oughta be damn glad I don’t take a horsewhip to you… then use you like a sheep!” Now Jamie knows he has to fight cruelty with greater cruelty—until he is forced to flee to San Francisco. Here, he discovers that there’s more to being gay than he suspected. He meets others of the strange twilight world:
ALAN FULLER—a wealthy Nob Hill photographer who is young, anxious, looking for a butch lover. Alan trains the reluctant Jamie and broadens his experiences.
CLINT KIRKWOOD—an ex-Texas cowhand, young, brawny, all body and no mind. With his rugged good boy-man looks, who wants a brain? Clint is a mean one with a whip, and he can turn real queer after a few drinks.
OSCAR—an effeminate member of the regulars at The Good Fairy Bar on Market Street. He’s always looking for a “master” among the cute but tough bar hustlers.
PAT BARROWS—a North Beach artist who gets his boys mad enough so they use him like a woman. He’s real weird once he puts out to sea on his small yacht
Let’s a visit to San Francisco and see why it’s the gay boy’s capital.
ROUGH TRADE. PEEPING TOMS. CRUEL HUSTLERS.
