Introduction

Eavesdropping on a conversation among a circle of psychiatrists talking at a social gathering, the comment was heard: “Everybody is becoming like a bunch of babies—people will stick just about anything in their mouths these days.”

Although this volume will deal almost exclusively with orality among homosexuals, this does not mean that oral-genital contact is limited to homosexual society—on the contrary, it is just as popular, if not more so, in heterosexual society as well. The reason for its practice in homosexuality is obvious—the female homosexual lacks a penis—the male homosexual lacks a vagina; the tongue serves as the Lesbian’s substitute and the mouth serves as the male homosexual’s substitute. (The anal compulsion of the homosexual was the subject of the book entitled The Anal Compulsion In Homosexuality by this author.)

Not too many years ago it was most common to have writers describe oral-genital contact as obscene, criminal, degenerate, filthy, etc. Psychiatrists and psychologists attributed such acts to neurotic, unbalanced minds, claiming that such horrible sex acts are usually committed by sensual persons who have become satiated or impotent from excessive indulgence in a normal way… a practice of married men of low morality… and of satiated cynics in nonmarital sexual indulgence. Dr. Albert Moll insisted that continued indulgence in oral-genital contacts can lead to no good end.

In contrast to these antiquated opinions, Dr. Albert Ellis in his book Sex And The Single Man, advised that: “If… you like your sex with the lights on, with music playing, in front of mirrors, rolling on the floor, slow or fast, orally or manually, by land or by sea, for heaven’s sake say so. And do your very best to discover, by words as well as deeds, what your mate likes, too.” Many marriage manuals will recommend that a husband and wife experiment with various types of sexual acts, including orality and anality…
