I’m very amazed by this important magazine—one of the very few to boldly give its date in the title. I’m going to review it twice, once for the text and once for the photos. This review concerns the text. It’s not a porn story at all—it’s a memoir by Harold Baskin of gay resistance in Los Angeles around 1972. The title is “Pornophile’s Progress” and it’s extremely well written. Baskin had at least one store selling adult magazines and the scandal sheet, Hollywood Citizen News, led a campaign to close down porn stores. “Gays threatened to boycott stores that advertised in that paper…” and that quickly ended the clean-up campaign. Baskin then goes on to discuss One, Inc, the Mattachine Society, Tangents magazine, and SIR (the Society for Individual Rights in San Francisco). Then Baskin reviews recent (at that time) cases concerning pornographic material. This article is totally unique in the world of porn mags. It’s not just ‘filler”—it’s alerts the reader to issues that concern them and their right to look at sexual images. This piece of history deserves a wide readership and the incident deserves inclusion in LA gay history books. The Hommi site really deserves praise for preserving our gay history!

This is now my second review of this fine magazine, and in this review I will focus on the photographs. I really lucked-out in selecting this magazine. From the front cover, I couldn’t even tell if it was a “penetration” or “no penetration” kind of magazine. Well, I’m happy to announce that it’s VERY MUCH a penetration magazine. The photographer is not shy and the lighting is great. The photos are all in color and are selected from a dozen magazines that the publisher released in 1972, and each photo is labeled as to which magazine it first appeared in. That’s really handy if you want to see more of a particular scene. You’ll know what to look for and I bet the Hommi site is a likely source.
The VERY FIRST PHOTOGRAPH shows two guys using another guy for their sexual gratification. The guy is on his back and the guy who is buttfucking him has got the guy’s legs pushed toward his shoulders so he can have an easier time fucking the guy’s asshole. The fucker’s dick looks nice and slick and shiny. The guy who has most of his dickhead in the bottom’s mouth also has a slick, shiny dick—nice and LONG too! I think the reason the publisher put this photograph first is because he wanted guys to start masturbating IMMEDIATELY!

Butthole shots get me off, and page 10 has a beautiful pucker (that I’ve currently go enlarged to 125%) that’s being held open so we get to see lots of it. The butthole shot on page 21 takes my breath away and makes me want to cum. It’s also currently enlarged up to 125%.
