This is a dirty story. That is, I intend it to be a dirty story. That is, part of me intends it to be a dirty story. (Part of me doesn’t know what a dirty story is.)
I don’t want to be coy. When I use the word dirty, I don’t mean the opposite of cleanliness. When I say dirty, I mean pornographic. And when I say pornographic, I mean something that will arouse your passion. If this story is at all successful, it will give you an erection. It will give you a hard on.
That would be illegal. It is perfectly legitimate and legal to write a story that will make you hate your grandfather and convert you to vegetarianism, or one that will make you grab a butcher knife and rush out into the street and slaughter the first man that crosses your path; but to intentionally write a story that arouses lust, fills your mind with erotic fantasies, and gives you a throbbing erection is definitely illegal.
By trickery, however, I hope to avoid provoking the authorities. I’m going to excite you (at least try to excite you) in such a subtle, indirect way that my story will confound the law and force it to allow my story to be published.
