Foreword
At the tender age of seventeen, Richard Harland Merrill found himself on his own. Thrown out of his house after a brutal beating inflicted on him by his parents, he thought he had no where to turn.
True, he had a good summer job, and high hopes for a number of college scholarships, but he was faced with two immediate problems. One was finding a place to live, and the second was getting through his senior year of high school while on his own.
It never occurred to the troubled boy that his well-being meant a great deal to the men and boys with whom he worked every day.
He had known them all such a short time, loved them all from the beginning, but could not really believe that they would all pitch in to help him in every way they knew how.
There was Mac, lonely widower, a father image to the love-starved boy… and Dave, the proud gay lib activist, who were ready to guide, advise, and solve Rick’s more serious problems.
Then there was the incredibly handsome Joe. With checkbook in hand, and the mistaken idea that he was straight… until he met Rick, Joe was ready to smooth out any financial problems his new friend might incur. All he asked in return was the knowledge that someone needed him, that someone preferably Rick, the boy with the dynamite dick.
Mike Larson, and his sex hungry sons were willing to help Rick as much as they were able to, and when it came to keeping him satisfied, Ron and Don were experts.
For a boy who thought he was alone in the world, Rick Merrill had an army of friends behind him. All he needed was time to discover just how many friends he really had, and that was the one thing Richard Harland Merrill had plenty of time. All it took was time, and the shy schoolboy soon discovered that life could be both gay, and rewarding.
