Foreword
Bob Cochran is an Indian giver. For years he’s been promising to take the HIS 69 editor out for lunch. Then he finally flew in from Los Angeles, hired-for-show-boy and all, bringing only the manuscript for Head Giver. When we asked what the title really meant, he just laughed and said, “It’s what I’ll be too busy doing to take you out to lunch.”
Then he laughed again, peculiarly, jumped back into his long black limousine, snuggled his free hand down warmly around show-boy’s shift lever, and sped off down the freeway.
I’ve still not been had for lunch. If his books didn’t sell so well, I swear I’d reject his next submission.
Head Giver, however, is a tasty mouthful all by itself. It’s really the tender love story of two homy studs who just, somehow, slide into a long-term relationship. That one of them is a successful businessman and the other a just-maturing teen, poses no problems for either of them.
Admittedly, there were times when Elliot, the elder, really had to double-time to keep it up with Randy, the really randy, developing youngster. Fortunately Randy had meat enough, and time enough, to stay for all of Elliot’s super-careful sex-instruction sessions.
It was only as Randy was really maturing that Elliot decided their love would have to undergo a true test. Elliot had been the only man the kid had ever loved, the only body the kid had ever sexed with. To Elliot it was essential that Randy move out on his own, encounter a wide variety of other people, and experiment with all the forms of man-sex he could stomach… and just a little more.
The big test, of course, that neither of them could predict, would be the outcome of their separation. Cochran, of course, does it all very good.
