What types of payments do you take?

On the site itself, we take all major credit cards.

If you don’t have a credit card, we can take other forms of payment and issue you a gift certificate for any amount, which can be used on anything on the site. We can’t mention the other forms here, because we don’t want certain companies to know that their precious apps might be used to purchase such dirty books… they don’t like that. So, email us and we’ll work it out easily. hommipublishing@gmail.com

Unfortunately, this wasn’t taken into account when setting up the credit card processing, and your statement will say Hommi Publishing instead of a parent company’s name. However, if this is an issue, other forms of payment will not have Hommi as the Payee–so email us at hommipublishing@gmail.com.

If you receive an “Order Complete” email from us and you didn’t just place an order–don’t panic! We don’t have your cc info on file–we’re not charging you anything. It just means that there was either:

  • we released a corrected/updated version of an ebook you already own or
  • you purchased a book that was supposed to have pictures/illustrations, and we didn’t have them at the time you made your purchase, and we want to remedy that.
  • And if we’ve interacted and a book comes up that I know you’ll like, I might just dash it off to you that way as a gift.

When we update a book, it’s rereleased and we want to make sure it shows up on the site that you already own it. The only way to do that, let you know about it, AND to make sure you have access to it is to create a new order. So that email is just us saying “hi” and doing our best to give the highest level of customer service we possibly can.

What types of books do you sell?

Paperbacks
All paperbacks have the word paperback in the title and paperback in the catagory tab. We don’t charge shipping, so the default is media mail (possibly bumped up if we notice that going up a rate is only a dollar or so more). And we don’t ship paperbacks outside the U.S.

eBooks
eBooks come in two formats–unless otherwise stated on the product page

  • pdf-readable on any computer
  • epub-readable on any ereader, phone, tablet, computer

eMags

All of the 50¢ emags are delivered as pdf only

…sort of. There are a few of the digest magazines (smaller publications that are all stories) that are reformatted and are in the ebook category and come as epub and pdf.

In 2023, Amazon finally changed their software to allow epubs onto Kindles (it had only been their proprietary mobi files before). SendToKindle is very easy to use.

Fuck yeah. That’s what we do.

Paperbacks
Yes. Yes, we do. But, unless it’s right after our annual Black Friday sale, the site probably doesn’t have the resources to buy bulk quantities. Ask us, and have at least a ballpark figure in mind.
We prefer trading ebooks for access to your library. We NEVER damage a book, and we pay shipping from you and back to you. You get access to ebooks (number to be negotiated… quite often it’s all of them in perpetuity).

Magazines
No. The only magazines we buy are pretty much Family Tales. Magazines are too much of a pain in the ass to get rid of–as you probably know if you’re asking this question.

eBooks and eMags

Immediately after check out, you will be redirected to a download page where you can download all of your purchases. You should also receive an mail with the links–if you don’t receive the email, let us know and we’ll resend it.

Paperbacks

Paperbacks are shipped no later than the next business day (many times, the same day if the order comes in before the nice lady comes to pick up our mail.) You will be provided a USPS tracking number by email–it will come either from this site’s email address or through our shipping provider, PirateShip.

Gifts

All of the things in our gift section are made to order, so have different shipping times, BUT they all normally ship within five days, and you’ll be provided a USPS/UPS tracking number as soon as they do.
