Introduction

Most recently we have become “sex-conscious” and this new awareness has awakened a sex curiosity in many who are now willing to experiment in sex outside of marriage, so that when they finally enter such union their sex tastes are firmly established and their sexual encounters are far more fruitful than of those who do not experiment.

The peak years of man’s sexual potency are in the late teens and early twenties. Being this is so, and being that most males do not marry until they are twenty-five, these peak years are lost because of our cultural beliefs.

In homosexuality, however, the practice being deplored by society, the participants are driven underground and they practice it in secret, hiding their aberrations and leanings.

Because of this, they experiment in it at an early age and discover their leanings earlier in life, and by the time they are in their late teens and early twenties they are firmly established in their preference to sexual leanings.

The subject of sex still holds much mysticism for many because their elders are still afraid to discuss it with the youngsters, and as a result the children have to learn it “wherever they can.” Although it is more openly discussed today than ever before, it is still not taught in most schools. Sex was referred to by one author:

“In our day, the barrier of secrecy surrounding sex has been reduced to a thin veil compared to the wall of shame and loathing that the pioneer sexologists had to penetrate to achieve their purposes. If we reverse the impact of the Kinsey reports, which told us what we wanted to know, we can imagine the recoil of early readers of Ellis and Freud who were telling their contemporaries things they did not wish to hear. Of all his books, Three Contributions to the Theory of Sex caused the greatest furor around Freud’s name, bringing down on him opprobrium and unforgiving abuse for sullying the image of childhood with the stigmata of sex. Sexual Inversion was put on trial, forcing Ellis to make of his Studies in the Psychology of Sex an exile publication, depriving the public for which it was intended of its message on the creative use of sex…“

(Aaron Krich, ed., The Sexual Revolution: Krafft-Ebing, Ellis, Freud (New York: Dell, 1963), p.9.)

As we can see, sex education is the key to total enlightenment and when it comes about and is as widespread as any other subject, then sophistication in sex and enlightenment are sure to follow, making for a more mature sexual life in later years.

In our book we find a youth who is ignorant in the ways of sex, who gets it where he can, and the outcome is the result of his experiences and the people he has shared his bed with.

Had he been previously educated in sex, perhaps he would have handled his experiences in a different manner with other results. Who can tell?
