To protect patients, counsellors and personal sources alike, the author wishes to make it clear that many liberties were taken with names and locales. Often, two or more cases have been condensed into one single Case History. The author and his publishers honor the sanctity of the patient-counsellor relationship, and present the Case Histories in this book expressly as a means of dramatically illustrating the deviations and difficulties discussed.
