FOREWORD
A killer drought grips the northern half of the San Joaquin Valley, destroying years of carefully cultivated grazing lands and crop fields. An uneasy peace between various ranchers breaks apart, erupting into a bloodbath over control of the remaining water reserves. Brad Greene, a refugee from the gay jungle of San Francisco, has escaped to the relative calm of the Valley, only to find himself embroiled in the blood feud between the two largest ranches in the North Valley.
Rough-Ridin’ Studs follows Brad as he uncovers a plot to subvert the Alpizar ranch, then finds himself trapped by the forces he had exposed.
Enter Bob, an explosives technician hired to spy upon Brad’s employer. Through a misguided explosion and resulting altercation with the big ranch hand, Bob becomes Brad’s closest friend. Both men, however, have little time to celebrate their newly found friendship. The forces of sadism, greed and unleashed hatred engulf both them and all around them as this tale pushes on to its thrilling end.
